Tzan Cruz is our home on Lake Atitlán and a family-run retreat that has grown and evolved over the years. For more than 25 years, we have welcomed guests from around the world — families, independent travelers, artists, writers, and digital nomads — and sharing this corner of Guatemala has become an important part of our lives.
Art is part of the character of Tzan Cruz. Clemens is a physician, writer, and painter, and has his studio here on the property. His work, together with the architecture, gardens, and natural surroundings, has helped shape the atmosphere of the place.
What we value most about living here is the close connection between nature, art, architecture, and the extraordinary cultural landscape of Lake Atitlán. Tzan Cruz lies between Santa Cruz La Laguna and Jaibalito, surrounded by mountains, water, and Indigenous villages whose traditions and everyday life are an essential part of this region.
At the same time, we have an excellent high-speed internet connection, making it easy to work remotely, stay connected, or simply enjoy a longer stay by the lake.
We live on the property and are nearby whenever our guests need us, while respecting their privacy and independence. We are always happy to share what we have learned from living here — a favorite trail, a small local restaurant, a village to explore, or simply the best ways to enjoy life on the lake.
